Link #290 - The Final Lap
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
This Sunday we focus on the last prayer of the Lords Prayer "…deliver us from the evil one”. There are not many people who would not believe in evil. There seems to be substantial evidence that it exists. However, for many there is only a theoretical belief. Evil has become abstract and something we don’t necessarily recognize at work in our lives. The prayer Jesus offers point to evil being something very personal - eg. “evil one”. For followers of Jesus we don’t need to fear the evil one, but we do need to be on guard. This week at SUNDAY WORD we recognize what that means in our daily lives. Join us Sunday morning at 10am for this very personal teaching.
Our Community Meal today (Saturday) from 4-6 has another exciting menu. Soup: minestrone Main: Beef burrito plate with cole slaw. Desert: cinnamon applies with honey yogurt topped with Chiro crisps. We hope you can join us today and bring a friend.
It is also worth noting that we officially enter the season of Advent this weekend. We now point towards the truth of God with us as Christmas approaches. Certainly the atmosphere at Bloor Central has changed. Decorations are up. Our Kettle Campain is off and running (thanks to those who have already booked for a shift). Next Sunday evening (December 7) we have our “Campfire Carol Sing” in the parking lot at 7pm. But more important we are hoping your hearts are being prepared for a new awareness of the presence of God in your life.
See you this weekend at Bloor Central
