Greetings in the name of Jesus.

The next couple weeks at Bloor Central have a lot going on so please make sure to take note of what is coming. First of all this weekend, like every weekend at Bloor Central kicks off with our Community Meal. Everyone is welcome to join us for dinner on Saturday from 4-6pm. This week the menu includes cream of zucchini soup (we make that ourselves), Mexican beef, rice, corn black bean salad, guacamole, tortilla and a slice of cantaloupe for desert. Ya, our Saturday meal just keeps getting better and better.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, a very significant day in the Christian calendar. But this is even bigger than normal as it is our opportunity to wish Jarhed and Jessica well as they head off for Bangladesh. We always look forward to gathering on Sunday, but this week really is something special. Join us as we seek God together at SUNDAY WORD, 10am Sunday morning.

Palm Sunday is the beginning of what is called Holy Week. This is the last week of lent and really focuses on being ready to recognize the significance of Good Friday and Easter. Through the week (from Sunday to Thursday) we will be sending out scripture passages from the lectionary that focus on a variety of bible passages that point us to the events of Good Friday and Easter. We hope these bible passages might be helpful to you as they will arrive via the Bloor Central Link through Holy Week.

On Thursday (April 17) we will have a special gathering for our monthly prayer meeting. We will meet in the prayer room at 7pm and everyone is free to join us.

Good Friday (April 18) will be highlighted by our Good Friday Reflection Service. This is a gathering much different from our normal gathering on Sundays. It is a time to consider the significance of Jesus on the cross. We encourage each of you to come with an open heart ready to allow the words of Jesus to speak personally to you. That is Friday at 10am.

That will bring us back to Easter Sunday (April 20). The biggest day on the Christian calendar - but we’ll tell you more about that next week.
