Link #272 - Prayer Meeting
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
This is a special “mid-week reminder” on a couple of issues.
Thursday night this week we have some people gathering for prayer. As we get back into routine at Bloor Central it is a very appropriate time to commit the coming year to God through prayer. Everyone is welcome and we start at 7pm in the prayer room (at the top of the stairs).
Last Sunday we started our series on the “Lords Prayer” with the first intro. In the notes there was a copy of the prayer Jesus gave his disciples from Matthew 6:9-13. Our desire in the coming weeks is to learn what it means to LIVE this prayer. That will require taking time to read/recite/pray the prayer through the week. I’m hoping some people have been praying this prayer through the week but in case you forgot included below is a copy of it. You still have 4-5 days before this coming Sunday and I’d encourage you to start praying the prayer as best you can each day. To put some effort it should require 2-3 minutes a day. We are hoping to get some feedback from people after they have spent some time praying these words from Jesus.
MATTHEW 6:9-13
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
Amen.
Blessings to all!
