Link #273 - The center, of the center, of the center.
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Get ready for another weekend at Bloor Central! On Saturday we serve our community meal from 4-6pm and EVERYONE IS INVITED. Our menu this week starts off with carrot ginger soup and then we have a Thai vegetarian curry with jasmine rice and broccoli for the entre. The meal finishes off with an oatmeal cookie and strawberries for desert. Our Saturdays are a great time to connect with each other and with our neighborhood. We hope you can make it.
Last week we announced that our focus this season would be on the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples (commonly known as the Lords Prayer). Some people suggest that this prayer is at the center, of the center, of the center of everything Jesus taught about. It is in fact impossible to recognize the significance of this prayer without understanding what the “center” of Jesus teaching was about. Through the ages millions have missed the motivation of this prayer, and thus missed the significance of it. This week in the second part of our introduction to the Lords Prayer we will focus on the context in which Jesus taught this prayer. I think you will find this prayer bigger then you thought - way bigger. Hope you can not only join us SUNDAY AT 10am, but we hope you might bring a friend. We love having visitors.
See you this weekend at Bloor Central.
