Link #359 - What do you REALLY want?
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Last Sunday we began our look at Jesus’ question to two guys that were following him. “What do you want?”. I encouraged everyone to take time to search your hearts in order to answer this question for yourselves. Often times we allow distractions to hijack our deep longings and we miss the opportunity to invite the risen Lord Jesus into the most sacred areas of our lives. The request last week was to hear the longings of your own heart by (1) prayer, (2) intentional stillness and (3) by writing your own eulogy (what you’d like to hear people say about you at your funeral). This Sunday at 10 am we are going to try and go deeper. Why is it so significant that Jesus would ask us this question? Because it has the power to change the direction of your life if you are willing to answer it honestly. Even if you missed last week we hope everyone will join us this Sunday at 10am to seek God together.
Today (Saturday) we again plan to invite the community to have a meal with us from 4-6 pm at 789 Dovercourt. We call it 7ATE9 and it is a wonderful opportunity to bring a friend to the Church, or to come and meet a new one. This week the meal kicks off with a tomato coconut soup, the main dish is a Mexican pork burrito bowl with basmati rice, bean medley, salsa, tortilla chips with a salad on the side and an orange for desert. We’re also serving chai for our tea this week.
Saturday evening, or Sunday morning there is a warm welcome at Bloor Central for you this weekend.
